I personally have found, especially in the day when it's light outside, that using an eye pillow helps the eyes to settle during yoga nidra (relaxation). Even when the eyes are closed it is possible to sense the light which can make it more difficult to completely relax. The gentle weight of the pillow soothes the eyes while the deep inhalation of the scent relaxes the mind and body.

Our scented Eye Pillows are hand made at Ashgrove Yoga. The fabric has been sourced locally (Wexford area) and is 100% cotton. They are filled with either flax or rice both are purchased from Irish Suppliers. Flax seed pillows are slightly more expensive but the seeds are softer and have a natural nutty smell which some people may find preferable to rice.

There are two main scents which will be constantly available and then two guest scents which will change periodically. However if you have a particular fragrance that you feel would be beneficial to you please feel free to discuss it with me and I'll see if I can source it for you.

You can choose from the selection I have ready made in class or you can customise your own and I'll have it ready for you for the following week;

  • Pick a fabric
  • Pick a filling
  • Pick a scent

Pillows can be paid for in the online shop via paypal for your convenience or you can pay in class.  I don't have the option online to have eye pillows delivered as most people are coming to class anyway so it's possible to collect them here however if you would like your pillow posted please email me and I'll advise you of the additional cost.

More Uses for Eye Pillows

Did you know you can also use your eye pillows as hot or colds packs to sooth tired or inflamed muscles?

To heat - pop in the microwave and heat for up to 1 minute.

To use cold - pop your eye pillow in a plastic bag and seal to prevent moisture and put it in the fridge or freezer.
