Yin & Yang Course

Course Details

The perfect balance of the gentle flow of Hatha Yoga and the quiet stillness of Yin Yoga.

During this 4 week course we will combine the two styles of yoga to create the perfect balance.  We'll practice gentle Hatha flows, to create movement and build strength in the body, with the quiet stillness of Yin Yoga, to create length and flexibility in the body.

Our aim for this course will be to create more space in both the body and the mind.

The course is suitable for all levels of abilities and will include plenty of options to accommodate complete beginners.

Yin Yoga & Aromatherapy Course

Course Details

For this course we will be using and discussing the benefits of bringing essential oils into our daily life to support and nourish the mental and physical body.

Essential Oils have powerful natural healing compounds that have anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal properties.  They can encourage our bodies to heal themselves naturally.

Each week we will concentrate on a different area of the body.  We will use a sequence of gentle Yin Yoga Asana (postures) to create space in the joints while lengthening the connective tissues and fascia in the body.  Yin Yoga is very accessible and beneficial to all levels of fitness and abilities.  You are encouraged to take each pose to your individual level of ability with the help of plenty of props to support you (bolsters, blankets, blocks etc).  In Yin Yoga we make ourselves as comfortable and relaxed as possible.  By relaxing and letting go we allow the body to naturally release, creating more flexibility, freedom of movement and a reduced feeling of stiffness over time.

During each class we will be diffusing and inhaling different oils chosen to support the area of the body we are working on.  You will also be given therapeutic oils that you can rub into your hands and feet to enhance your practice.

As part of this course you will be given a bottle of Fractionated Coconut Oil plus weekly free samples to try in class and at home worth over €30.

A €20 deposit is required to secure your space payable by the 14th September.  The remainder course fee of €40 is required on the first day of class.

Yin Yoga for Men

4 week course.  Every Monday 7pm - 8:30pm.

Course Details

One for the lads. This 4 week course is suitable for complete beginners and all levels of physical ability.

All yin postures are done on the floor using bolster and blocks to help support you.

Gentle Grounding Flow

4 Week Course.  Every Monday 7pm - 8:30pm.

Dates: 20th Aug, 27th Aug, 3rd Sept & 10th Sept.

Course Details

This course is suitable for complete beginners, those getting back into exercise after illness or injury, if you are currently not very physically fit or if you just like the idea of a nice gentle, relaxing class.

For the entire class we will remain down on our mats, close to the ground.  Each week we will work on a different area of the body gently moving and flowing with the breath.

We will work to improve movement, flexibility, strength, concentration, stress and awareness of the body.

IMPORTANT:  The yoga room is on the 2nd floor so students will need to be fit enough to climb stairs.

Gentle Yin & Yang Flow

Course Details

Week 1 - Upper body - neck, shoulders, arms, wrists, chest and upper back.
Week 2 - Centre body - ribs, abdomen, spine and lower back.
Week 3 - Lower body - hips, legs and ankles.
Week 4 - Full body - with our last class we'll work through the entire body

This class is suitable for men and women of all abilities. It will be a lovely gentle class which will combine relaxing hatha flows with our longer yin yoga holds.

It will be suitable for complete beginners to yoga or those who have practiced yin yoga but haven't yet tried hatha. Just like our yin class we will spend the whole class close to the ground so if you don't like or don't feel ready for a higher energy class, this class will be great for you.

This will be a 4 week course only and will have limited spaces.
